Utilizing case studies of traitors ranging from ideological moles such as Kim Philby and Oleg Gordievsky; to mass leakers Snowden and Manning; Canada’s Jeffery Delisle (DND) and Brian Molony (CIBC) and others, this workshop examines the psycho-social drivers of betrayal, as well as its external triggers. Using a cross-section of betrayers, this course will examine the meaning of loyalty and reliability in an age of entitlement and increasing narcissism.
The workshop will also highlight the damage insider threats pose to public and private sector organizations, as well as preventive and mitigative measures used to safeguard one's assets and brand. Instruction will consist of short lectures designed to promote discussion, encouraging participants to offer their views.

Daniel M. Stanton served for thirty-two years with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, including twelve years as an Executive Manager in operations. Mr. Stanton’s expertise stems from a lengthy career in counterintelligence, human source recruitment, handling and validation, as well as the management of foreign and domestic partnerships. He has a solid understanding of the risks Insider Threats pose to any organization; providing unique and practical advice toward its prevention, detection and mitigation.
