About the GovTech Event Series

The GovTech Event Series, presented by the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute (uOttawa PDI) is designed to bridge the gap between government priorities and private sector innovation. Through dynamic events focused on key themes such as cybersecurity, digital transformation, and AI, the series fosters ongoing dialogue between public institutions and forward-thinking companies. Each event offers a unique platform to explore cutting-edge solutions, build strategic relationships, and gain practical insight into the technologies and partnerships shaping the future of effective, resilient public-sector organizations.

Canada Workforce Initiative 2031

The future of work is transforming — and we want you to be part of it.

Join a national dialogue that is defining the skills Canada will need by 2031. Our expert roundtables bring together leaders from across sectors to identify emerging skills and immediate training priorities. Participation is by invitation, but you are welcome to express your interest.

Canada’s GovTech Summit 2026

PDI is proud to launch Canada’s first national GovTech Summit, bringing government and industry leaders together to shape the future of digital public services. With Canada’s global ranking in e-government declining and aging systems placing pressure on service delivery, the need for modernization has never been more urgent.

Delivering AI-Enabled Services to Canadians

This timely session, led by business and technology experts from Levio, will explore these critical questions and provide best practices to help federal organizations—and their corporate partners—adopt AI in a way that is responsible, efficient, and effective.

We will also examine what it means to deploy AI systems safely and securely, highlighting real-world considerations, regulatory trends, and proven frameworks for minimizing risk while maximizing impact.

Canada’s Cyber Future: From Strategy to Superpower

Canada’s National Cyber Security Strategy lays out a bold vision: to safeguard our digital society and position Canada as a global leader in cybersecurity.

In support of this mission, the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute—together with Coding for Veterans and the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange—is convening a high-impact collaboration summit on September 23, 2025.
